Need more glow?

Winter has both its pros and cons. But I think we can all agree that the skin is not at its best during winter time.
We need to take care of our skin to bring out our most beautiful self and shine during the dark and cold days of winter. Our skin glows when it is internally healthy.

Here I share some tips that I have found throughout the years.

Let’s begin!

– Exfoliate
Exfoliation is the key to radiant and glowing skin.
Exfoliation removes the dead skin cells that form the top most layer of your skin. Along with dead skin cells, it also helps cleanses the pores and keeps acne at bay.

There are a lot of scrubs and tools available online and in shops, some work and some don’t work. Here is a great blog that recommends different coffee scrub for both face and body.

–  Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is your skin’s best friend. It keeps your skin soft, supple, clear, glowing and healthy. It works both internally and externally.
Include coconut oil in your diet and also use it topically.

You can even substitute your face cleanser with coconut oil- simply take little coconut oil and rub it between your palms. Rub your face with the oily palm for 3-4 minutes and keep a warm damp washcloth on your face for 15 minutes. If you feel your face is oily, you may use gram flour to scrub your face.
– Face Mist
Use green tea or pure rose water as face mist. It keeps the skin hydrated and gives glow. I always use rose water in the morning before my skincare routine and at night after I take off all the makeup. I works amazing and gives a fresh feeling to the skin.
Here are some face mists from Pixi.
Ice
Rub ice on your face to facilitate circulation and add an instant glow to the face.

Rubbing ice on your face can increase blood flow to the area and add an instant glow to it! It also tightens pores and heals acne overtime. You may also use ice cubes made with green tea or water containing mint juice for added benefits.
– Detox
Have lemon water mixed with honey in the morning to detox your body.

Lemonade detox first thing in the morning works amazing as it cleanses your stomach internally and clean stomach keeps your skin clean and healthy. Squeeze 1 whole lemon in a glass of warm water and consume. You may also add a dash of honey if you wish.
– Highlight
And my last tip of the day is obviously -highlighting your face. Highlight your cheekbones using a highlighter to add an instant glow. I would recommend one that looks natural, this one from MAC is my go to. Apply it before your skincare, or mix it in with your day cream, it gives you that natural glow that everyone wants.
